Toddlers

Toddlers at Melrose thrive in more responsibility, more extreme fun, and even messy days designed to support growing and learning! At this stage in their development, these children are beginning to become more independent and engage in play with each other more.

At Melrose, it is our job as educators is to introduce new materials, words, foods, and objects into our classrooms. On a daily basis, our toddlers class enjoys art time at the Studio to explore different mediums and textures. It is our goal is to cultivate within children a lifelong passion for learning and exploration. Our Reggio Emilia inspired curriculum is flexible and emerges from children's ideas, thoughts, and observations. Our teachers create collaborative projects from these ideas and the children shine.

The Melrose toddler is a child on the cusp of taking on the world, always on the go, and ready for school adventure! Little ones who are cultivating their motor skills will fit right in this class.

These young children are gaining social and emotional skills, improving hand-eye coordination, as well as gross and fine motor skills. Mirrors around the room make a fun introduction to self-exploration.

At Melrose, we support your child to be creative and explore the world, while keeping them developmentally on track. As your child’s language begins to evolve, it is our goal to introduce them to new words and sounds. It’s tough work being a “toddler."
